Last Wednesday i was invited for the opening of CATWALK exposition at Rijksmuseum. It’s always a pleasure to be at Rijskmuseum for the obvious reasons. Beautiful building where the classic historical part was effortless integrated with new elements of modern architecture. But every new season, there are new reasons to visit museums. If you are interested in art and fashion, you should pay them a visit.
Kimono’s are in in fashion again, but Breitner started this long time ago.
The Japanese kimono has inspired fashion of other form of art in many form. The impressionist George Hendrik Breitner, is known for his Girl in a White Kimono paints. For the first time the Rijksmuseum has staged an exhibition featuring every version of a girl in a kimono by this Dutch nineteenth-century painter.
